A perfect over-the-counter product for patients not wanting a custom appliance and/or needing a quick fix to protect their teeth. Introducing a one-size-fits-all temporary dental splint.

Introducing a one-size-fits-all temporary dental splint that can be used immediately to reduce TMD complaints such as teeth grinding and clenching. This clever short term splint provides immediate relaxation of the chewing muscles and can be used as an initial diagnostic tool. It protects the enamel and teeth from pressing, grinding and harmful abrasion, relieving adapted restraint of the lower jaw or compensates for occlusal early contacts and can be worn both during the day and at night.

Using the RehaSplint is easy – simply insert the splint into the mouth, then lightly bite on the symmetrical pads. Usually, the TMJ mouth splint can be applied straight away without any adjustments. Should the splint be too long, it can be shortened to the appropriate size.

It is available in three different hardness's, each developed to meet the needs of different patients due to different physical conditions:

  • Soft - particularly suitable for very sensitive patients.
  • Medium - combines the comfortable feel of a softer splint and the resilience for heavier grinding or pressing.
  • Hard - particularly suitable for severe bruxism.

For those patients who don’t want a custom appliance but do need something to protect their teeth – the Rehasplint might have a place as an over the counter product at reception. Where I think it would probably work best is patients with acute closed locks where there is insufficient time or space to obtain an impression and scan. The Rehasplint could be easily inserted and work as a great pivot appliance.
