Meet Richard Coventry, a member of the BSOS Committee

At Prestige Dental we have always been proud to support dental learning and have a long-standing partnership with the British Society of Occlusal Studies (BSOS). Our Loanstock service provides BSOS delegates the opportunity for essential hands-on learning enabling exploration of occlusion and its impact on dentistry.

Organisations like this don’t run themselves, so dedicated individuals who give their time to serving on the BSOS committee are crucial to its continuing ability to promote a deep understanding of occlusion and specialised training to diagnose and treat occlusal and jaw related problems.

Taking time out of his busy practice life to help contribute is Richard Coventry, BDS (Dundee), MFDS RCPS (Glasg), MPH (Glasgow), Dip Con Sed (Ncle).

Richard graduated from Dundee in 2004, following a short time in the hospital and community in 2005-6, he has worked in general practice ever since, taking over his father’s practice in 2012.Committed to lifelong learning, he has completed postgraduate training in dental implants, oral surgery, periodontal surgery, and holds diplomas in prosthodontics and sedation.

Presently, he is more focused on hands on courses finding them more beneficial to my daily clinical practice. BSOS is great for informal learning amongst fellow like-minded dentists. My current clinical interests include occlusion, tooth wear cases, TMD, implants, sedation and digital dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Richard enjoys CrossFit (he claims badly!) and hillwalking. Passionate about giving back, Richard also volunteers with the Diamond Smiles Foundation and is currently a dedicated VT trainer.
