Over the last 5 years a small chapel in Shelf has organised a Christmas Tree Festival for charity. Its a simple idea where anyone can buy a tree and decorate as they wish in support of their chosen charity . The trees – over 25 this year – are displayed for a full week supported by a calendar of festive events to get you in the Christmas spirit with Santa making an early appearance for the little ones.

Visitors to Bethal Chapel are encouraged to vote for their favourite tree and support with small donations to any of the featured charities. The event has become quite a draw, with people wanting to see the latest decorations which become both more ambitious and thought provoking year on year.

As a longstanding supporter of the Marie Curie Bradford Hospice, our fundraising over the years has raised over £20k, in support of the excellent work the Hospice do in caring for local people living with terminal illness and their families. Our main fundraiser has always been the Summer Tea party so it seemed very appropriate to choose this as a theme for our tree this year.

We were delighted that the Team’s efforts were rewarded with over £70 raised for Marie Curie. A big thank you to the team at Prestige that were in charge of decorations and all the generous visitors who chose to support our cause.
