Hot from Bologna – Rhein83 Highlights & Easy Fix Launch

This last month, the heat was on – both in the UK and in Bologna, where Lucy and Paul represented Prestige Dental at the Rhein83 Congress 2025. From expert-led sessions to exciting product launches, it was a packed and inspiring few days.

It was hot… hot… hot! Bologna may have been sizzling around 35°c plus, but Lucy and Paul were keeping cool at the Rhein83 Congress 2025. Held once every 2 years, the congress is not only a great opportunity for networking with friends, colleagues, and customers across the international dental sector but also for immersive learning. This year we were invited to take guests courtesy of Rhein83 and were delighted to be joined by Barry Rimmer from Lonsdale Dental Practice.

After registering and picking up our goody pack we attended a series of expert-led lectures and presentations. Following the speakers is easy, thanks to the fluency of the interpreters which is no mean task given the demands of dental terminology! The day ended with the Rhein party, a delicious seafood buffet (a real Paul favourite) and a good old chin wag, with Paul reminiscing about the good old days, working in London’s west end with Dom and Peter from Mii Dental and Barry Rimmer.

ALL NEW! OT EQUATOR EASY FIX

Saturday’s introduction was an exciting new development in the OT Equator tool kit – the Easy Fix, designed to create screwless full-arch fixed prosthetic structures. This snap-on fixed prosthesis without screws, has a special release key so restorations can be easily removed and inspected in a simple, non-invasive manner. The system requires only one access hole for unlocking which can be placed where convenient, preserving the functionality and appearance of the restoration.

And a choice of 3 levels of retention force makes it possible to manage the correct retention in relation to the number of implants. With simple and safe insertion up to 60°, it has a prosthetic seal comparable to a standard Ti base system.

Summing up this exciting development, Paul commented:

Happy Birthday Lucy!

After all that learning, it was finally time for some R&R, to say our goodbyes and take in a little sightseeing especially as it was also Lucy’s birthday. A short train ride takes your down to Florence where we enjoyed an extra 24 hours and some amazing sights in the sunshine.

Reflecting on the congress, our guest Barry Rimmer had this to say:
