Indications for use…

Mouthguard scissors.

Designed for trimming all thicknesses of mouthguard material. When removing mouthguard blanks from the model after vacuum forming. Make sure the blank is cold (run under cold water) to prevent deforming, cut the back of the blank inwards until you reach the model on each side of the palette, scribe around the palette with a scalpel and until you reach each cut and simply pull away the palette around the scribe. The blank will now remove from the model more readily.

Laschal Bleaching tray scissors ref: 70-86311

Will easily trim vacuum form bleaching tray blanks. They are designed with micro serrations on one blade together with the other razor honed blade to cut cleanly with little pressure. They will snip tight corners cleanly.

Block out compound. Pulpdent Kooldam.

This is a light cured block out resin that sets like flexible rubber. It adheres to models for use when producing bleaching trays and can also be used for blocking out undercuts prior to vacuum forming. It is supplied in syringes for easy, accurate dispensing.

Wheel Saw.

This is a rotary cutting wheel designed for cutting through thicker/hard splint material, particularly the Splint 060 and 080.

Acrylic Bur. NTI ref: SF515S-023

This is designed to use as an alternative or in conjunction with the wheel saw. A rotary instrument with a tapered point, developed to cut through thicker/Hard splint material. A very useful instrument for trimming accurately around the palette and gingival margin.

Plaster Bur. NTI 251 GE 060

The Plaster bur is made from tungsten carbide with a super coarse cross cut cutters for trimming plaster models. It can also be used for removing large amounts of thicker/Hard splint material. Non clog.

Acrylic Polishers. Nti P0636 Coarse, P0646 fine.

These are acrylic polisher for smoothing the edge of splints made from hard splint material. They will eliminate discomfort for patients by rounding and smoothing the edges of the appliance.

Silicone Polishers. NtI

These polishers should be used for final smoothing of the edges of the thicker 120 and 160 nightguard/ mouthguard and sportsguard blanks once the have been trimmed.

Silicone lubricant.

Occasionally when using the soft bleaching and mouthguard blanks, the material can stick to the base of the machine. By spraying this lubricant spray onto the suck down section of the machine the potential of sticking will be eliminated.

Smoothy Warm Air pencil.

When taking your impression for the model production. We have a set of re-usable silicone moulds that fit snugly around our SS impression trays. These mould help to make a neat and tidy model without the need for a model trimmer.

MODEL MAKING TECHNIQUE…

Take your impression using our As an alternative to using polishers. The Smoothy can be used to smooth the edges of thicker acrylic and mouthguard blank. Simply run the warm air over the edges to create a smooth finish. It is not recommended that the smoothy be used on thinner 020 and 030 blanks.

Earthstone.

Earthstone is a simple to use dust and mess free method of producing models in a class 4 die stone in surgery. The powder and liquid are pre-measured so no separate mixing bowl, spatula and vibrator are required. Simply puncture the top of the powder container with the liquid bottle, squirt in the liquid and shake for 30 seconds. Tap on a work surface to remove air bubbles and pour. The model is ready to use in 10 minutes. Once the model is set the use of this harder stone prevents damage to models when removing the vacuum formed appliances. Tips… use an instrument and run inside the occlusal surface of the impression when pouring, this helps to ensure accuracy. Some people also use a Humming Bird Flosser while pouring. The vibration of the instrument again helps to ensure accuracy first time.

Impression trays and Moulds.

(Trays and moulds come in a set of 5 each corresponding upper and lower) Mix your Earthstone and pour…That’s it the model is ready for use in 10 minutes allowing you to perform a one visit vacuum forming procedure.
