Portable Battery-Operated Pulp Testers

All pulp testers are designed to do one thing and only one thing - determine whether a tooth is vital or non-vital. Regardless of cost, none of these devices are capable of performing differential diagnosis.

So, why would you pay "too much" just to find out if a tooth is "dead" or "alive"? Parkell offers two models - one is economical and called the DIGITESTª, and the other is even MORE economical and called the GENTLE-PULSEª. Both are hand-held devices powered by easy to replace 9-volt batteries, and both contain sophisticated integrated circuitry designed to maintain patient comfort while delivering a gentle electrical stimulus to the tooth. We call it "gentle pulse" stimulation Ð a gradually increasing, interrupted flow of current that effectively determines tooth vitality without crossing the patient's threshold for pain. Traditional testers deliver a continuous wave-form current that increases tooth stimulation in fits and starts as you "turn up the volume" - a virtual guarantee for patient discomfort.
