Parkell - Small EquipmentBurnett Power-Tip insert![]() Conventional perio inserts are great for low-power plaque debridement, but they don’t deliver nearly the power you need to attack flinty accretions. The Burnett Power-Tip was designed using input from one of the country's leading educators in ultrasonic scaler technique. The basic idea was simple: Make a thin insert that's aggressive enough to remove the industrial-strength calculus you often discover at the initial appointment. As you can see, the Burnett PowerTip looks like a periodontal probe. It's long. About 11/2mm longer than a conventional perio tip. So it reaches calculus lurking at the bottom of the deepest pocket. Unlike a conventional perio insert (which should never be used above the "medium" power setting), the Burnett Power-Tip is designed for any power setting ... from "low" for plaque removal ... to "maximum" for flatout calculus blasting. The Power-Tip can deliver roughly 70% more power than a conventional perio insert. It's also terrific for conventional supragingival scaling. The thin design slides into narrow proximal spaces that have never seen a P- 10®. And of course, when you use one tip both supra- and subgingivally, there's no need to repeatedly switch inserts each time you cross the gingival line. Burnett Power-Tip™ insert
