Parkell - Restorative ProductsSmarTemp![]() SmarTemp is a first-class composite provisional material. It creates a tough, slightly resilient restoration that’s less brittle ... less likely to fracture if the patient occludes on a cherry pip. It’s great both for crowns and bridges. In fact, recent research at Ohio State University confirmed that SmarTemp’s flexural strength is more than 30% greater than that of the most popular automix material. After setting, SmarTemp has a slight oxygen-inhibited layer. But the operative word here is “slight.” It doesn’t form that disgusting gooey slime that coats many materials. Shrinkage is virtually nil. But if you want to correct a defect, you can do it easily with more material or a flowable composite. And unlike most provisional materials, SmartTemp is highly radiopaque. If the unthinkable happens, and the restoration is aspirated, physicians will be able to locate it on a film. Use the same gun you use for your impressions. SmarTemp is available in a “no-clog” cartridge with the split design. And since it mixes in a one-to-one ratio, you can use the same gun and plunger you use for your vinyl impression material. Just express SmartTemp directly from the mixing tip into a crown former or preliminary impression. Then seat it into the mouth or onto a model to complete the process. After a minute or so remove the temp and slide it on and off to be sure you don’t lock into undercuts. SmartTemp stands out clearly on a radiograph. Hopefully, your patients will never need this feature. Still, it’s comforting to know it’s there. SmarTemp™ in Automix cartridges (50ml with 10 tips) No-Clog Split cartridge
