Laschal - Surgical & Restorative InstrumentsMicro-serrated Periotomes
Problem
While traditional periotome instruments greatly facilitate the extraction of a tooth, there are problems inherent in their smooth bladed design. In order to enter the periodontal ligament space and function without cutting innocent tissue, they must be thin but not sharp. Due to this limited sharpness, an excessive amount of pressure must often be applied to tear the elastic ligaments, frequently causing iotrogenic damage, destructive bending of thin instrument blades and operator fatigue. The ideal periotome would be thin, strong and cut atraumatically – with less force. Solution ![]() Laschal Micro-serrated Periotomes operate more efficiently and ergonomically with a vertical "sawing" motion that cuts periodontal ligaments better with less aoolied force.
