Laschal - Surgical & Restorative InstrumentsCastro-Viejo Needle Holders
Problem
Problems exist with conventional CastroViejo needle holders. There is not adequate distance between locking components when the jaws first touch, frequently causing the handle to lock unintentionally during instrument ties. Due to stiffness of the hardened steel construction, creating a comfortable distance between locking components of a conventional needle holder results in an exorbitant amount of destructive pressure being placed on the tips when the lock is engaged, quickly leading to splaying of the tips when holding heavy gauge needles. Additionally, the inherent inflexibility and weight of carbon steel instruments limits the extreme tactile sensitivity needed to “feel” the needle penetrate and pass through the tissue. Solution![]() Laschal Castro-Viejo Needle Holders set a new standard for splay-resistance, smooth operation and tactile sensitivity. They hold all gauges of suture needles without compromising grip strength or service life.
