Prestige Occlusion SundriesCosmetic Aligners![]() Midline and Horizontal Plane Transfer Device. The Cosmetic Aligner registers the anterior midline between central incisors and the horizontal plane, during dental treatment. After tooth preparation, these alignments are frequently difficult to determine from the master model. This information is critical to communicate to the lab technician for fabrication of aesthetic anterior restorations. The Cosmetic Aligner replaces the cumbersome inaccurate use of the cross stick bite impression technique and is easy to use in conjunction with Denar articulators. Step one.Brush the upper portion of the aligner with adhesive and fill with quick set, 30 second bite registration material (Blu-Mousse- Super fast). Position the Aligner over the prepared teeth where the midline and horizontal planes are desired. The use of facial landmarks such as eyes, nose and lips can help to help to determine where to position the Aligner. The prepared teeth barely touch the plastic as the material sets. Step Two.Fill the lower portion of the Aligner with adhesive and quick set bite material as in step one. Reposition the Aligner on the upper prepared teeth and have the patient bite down lightly to make an impression of the lower teeth. Allow the material to set without distorting the position of the Aligner. This technique is not used for bite registration. Step Three. The Laboratory technician places the devise on the master model and marks the midline and horizontal planes. The final check of the completed crowns and veneers is done by removing the upper bite material and placing the lower impression on the articulated models to determine if the midline and the horizontal planes are correct before returning the case back to the dentist. |
